Menopause is the natural end to menstruation (monthly periods). Average age of menopause is 51 in the Unites States. Some women will experience the symptoms in their 40’s and some not until late 50’s. Perimenopause is the time period before and during the completion of menses. It may last years in some women.

Fluctuating levels of estrogen and progesterone can cause a variety of symptoms. The severity of the symptoms is very individualized. Some women experience mild hot flashes and no other symptoms and others will have a variety of symptoms, including

  • Hot flashes
  • Night sweats
  • Headaches
  • Irritability and Mood swings

  • Low Sex Drive
  • Decreased Energy
